Most paper cups available in the market which claim to be recyclable or compostable contain either plastic or a PLA liner. PE coated cups are non compostable and hence cannot be recycled , while the PLA lined cups can only be composted in controlled conditions , once they are segregated from rubbish. In most cases this does not happen and they end up in the landfills or in the seas.
We have replaced the PE coating with a bio based coating which in turn makes the cups 100% combustable, biodegradable and 100% recyclable , thus reducing the carbon footprint.
